Norway in a Nutshell ® – Scandinavian Fjord Tour with Oslo and Bergen (travel inspiration)
Without any doubt one of the most beautiful trips in Scandinavia, allowing you to discover Oslo, the beautiful capital of Norway, the old, picturesque Hanseatic city of Bergen and not least the breath-taking fjord region with spectacular landscapes and the dramatic Nærøyfjord in Sognefjord a UNESCO world heritage site.
Day 1 and 2 – OSLO
Arrival to Oslo airport, Gardemoen. Transfer to Oslo city by your own means. We recommend you to use the Flytoget, the airport express train. Check to your hotel located in the city center, close to most of the main attractions of the city. The combination of the metropolis and the proximity of nature make Oslo a unique place to stay.
During the first two days you can discover the most important sights of the Norwegian Capital. Oslo offers some 50 museums and numerous galleries, many of them of international renown such as the
Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Kon-Tiki and the Munch Museum.
Day 3 – NORWAY IN A NUTSHELL ® FROM OSLO TO BERGEN
Breakfast at your hotel and early departure to Oslo train station to board on an exciting trip through the most beautiful natural sceneries so typical for Norway. The Norway in a nutshell ® trip takes you through some of Norway’s most beautiful fjord scenery. You can experience the scenic Bergen Railway, the breathtaking Flåm Railway a masterpiece of railway engineering, the Aurlandsfjord, the narrow Nærøyfjord and the steep hairpin bends of Stalheimskleiva (May-September).
During this trip you will see several of the most important sights of the country as the Flåm railway, the Aurland and Nærøyfjord which are part of the Sognefjord and the UNESCOS world heritage list. Arrival to Bergen in the evening and overnight.

Day 4 – BERGEN
Bergen is full of history and tradition, an international city that has retained its small-town charm and atmosphere, and offers an exciting blend of nature, culture and exhilarating city life.
Bergen’s first buildings were erected along the old hanseatic wharf, Bryggen, which has been a lively and important part of the city through the centuries. This site, which features on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, comprises the remains of the old harbour buildings and is one of the best known medieval city settlements in Norway. Visit the fish market where you can taste salmon, shrimp and caviar prepared in the stalls of local fishermen and take the ride with the Fløibanen Funicular from the city centre to the top of the Fløien Mountain (320 metres above sea level) to enjoy a magnificent view on the city, the mountains, the fjords and the sea.
Day 5 – BERGEN – OSLO
Today you will return back to Oslo. You will take the train for around 6h30 through the mountains and will check in at the hotel in Oslo for one more night. The afternoon can be consecrated to do some shopping or visits in Oslo.
